In this workshop, we bring together a diverse range of scholars to reflect on the issues of decolonisation, race, racialisation, & racism from a non-US-centric perspective. In doing so, we intend to address questions such as:
A. How should we understand the concepts of race and racism?
B. What should we do about colonial racial terminology (e.g., ‘mixed-race’)?
C. How can we decolonise the academy, especially philosophy?
D. How should we resist racism, both structurally and institutionally?
E. What obligations do dominant racialised people have regarding racism?
Importantly, this workshop’s focus is distinctively intersectional.
