As a contribution to its Digital Reference publications, Oxford University Press is developing a new online Encyclopedia in Disability Studies whose editor-in-chief is David Bolt. Katie Skaal at OUP has asked me to be Area Editor for Philosophy and Theory of Disability of this online resource.
In my role as Area Editor, I will recommend approximately 25 topics for entries to be included in the Philosophy and Theory of Disability area of the encyclopedia. The entries/articles will be written by specialists that I recommend on the respective topics. I will recommend 3-5 authors for each topic entry/article.
So, if you have produced notable philosophical/critical theoretical work on disability pertinent to one of the topics that I recommend for inclusion in the encyclopedia, you will likely receive email from OUP staff in the coming months inviting you to produce an entry/overview (8,000-10,000 words) of the topic for this OUP reference encyclopedia. I will review the entries/articles after they have been peer reviewed.
I hope that you will agree to contribute to this important resource on philosophy of disability. The digital Encyclopedia in Disability Studies will launch in January 2026.
