Welcome to the Patreon page for Dialogues on Disability, the groundbreaking and critically-acclaimed series of interviews that disabled feminist philosopher of disability Shelley Tremain is conducting with disabled philosophers and posts to BIOPOLITICAL PHILOSOPHY on the third Wednesday of each month.

Tremain launched the series in April 2015 in order to provide a public venue for discussion with disabled philosophers about a range of topics, including their philosophical work on disability; the place of philosophy of disability vis-à-vis the discipline and profession; their experiences of institutional exclusion and personal and structural gaslighting in philosophy, in particular, and in academia, more generally; resistance to ableism, racism, sexism, and other apparatuses of power; accessibility; and anti-oppressive pedagogy.

The Dialogues on Disability series has had an undeniably formative and lasting impact on the discipline and profession of philosophy; on the production and dissemination of philosophy of disability; on the self-esteem and professional status of disabled philosophers; on the position of disabled academics in academia more broadly; and on disabled people’s activism in society, raising the profile of disabled philosophers globally and showcasing their philosophical work and other accomplishments.

From April 2015 to May 2021, Tremain has edited and produced the Dialogues on Disability interview series without financial support. Please acknowledge the critical importance of this interview series and enable Tremain to continue to produce it by supporting it financially.
