When I am not writing or trying to write or editing someone else’s writing or just reading someone else’s writing, I like to look at art. I’m currently reading a biography about Jean-Michel Basquiat by Doug Woodham, which means that I am looking at (representations of) art and reading someone else’s writing simultaneously.
Tomorrow, I am meeting Mich for lunch at Greens Vegetarian (wholly vegan) on Dundas Street West in Toronto and then we will go east on Dundas to the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), where both of us hold memberships. I am excited to see the current exhibitions, especially the Impressionists, the photography of Melissa Auf der Maur (former bassist for Hole), and Diego Marcon’s The Bubble Boy. I love both Monet and Hole. I don’t know anything about Marcon’s work, but I am very intrigued to see how prosthetics and disability are represented in the work.
After the AGO, we will retrace our steps west on Dundas to visit Bad Attitude Bread and Good Rebel Vegan Grocer and pick up supplies to take back to our respective homes. At some point along the way, we will stop and have coffee to discuss (among other things) the future co-authored blog posts that we plan to offer our beloved followers of BIOPOLITICAL PHILOSOPHY. No spoilers yet. But expect the posts to be audacious and transgressive!
More soon….

I do not recall hearing it nor feeling it, but I did both feel and see the after-effects. My laptop felt unbalanced, was teeter-tottering. When I looked at the right-side of the laptop, it was entirely open, its internal organs exposed to the light of day. Hadn’t I been exuberant about my laptop only the day before when Mich and I sat outside Bad Attitude Bread? […]
